The solution
The MTB thermal blanket
Removable, waterproof and reusable thermal insulation, custom-made for each hot component.
How it works
The blanket is built in layers: a hot face rated for the component temperature, an insulating core and a waterproof cold face. The assembly is sewn and fastened onto the equipment with springs and velcro.
The result is a barrier that keeps the outer surface around 55 °C even with the component above 375 °C, and that can be removed and refitted in minutes for inspection.
The four layers

Inner fabric
The textile barrier that takes the direct heat from the exhaust, turbo or pipework.

Insulation
The core that holds the heat back. The thickness of this layer is what sets the outer face temperature.

Cold face
